Losing Pieces While Playing the Reti Opening as a White Player

Basics of Losing Pieces
Just as it is an important chess tactic to protect pieces while staging an attack, deciding which pieces to give up are just as important. In the Reti Opening, White basically has 2 options of order when choosing the 3 Point pieces (Knights and Bishops) to lose at what time.
Option #1: Knight, Knight, Bishop
Option #2: Knight, Bishop, Knight
After three of your 3 Point pieces have been captured, the game has most likely transitioned from The Early Mid-Game to The Late Mid-Game.
Lose Your Knight First!
The Reti Opening for White is characterized by the structure of passive yet deadly formations along the sides of the board. Knight's can be useful at the beginning of the game while there are still many pieces left to attack. However, after a few pieces have been traded, The White Knights lose a significant amount of power in the game. Because the Knight has such a limited mobility, he is too slow for advanced chess play after the Late Mid-Game.
Due to this, White must plan ahead and use his Knights to stage risky, dangerous attacks early in the game.
