it bothers me when people say these guys are trying to act like they know what is going on in the hood. In no way are they doing that. They are rapping about things they know, like college, smoking weed, girls, etc. I don't see these guys pretending to be something they aren't I see them using rap and hip/hop as a way to write music that talks about things that they can relate to. This music isn't trying to relate to kids in the hood, its trying to relate to kids like them. Kids who go to college, kids from the suburbs.

I am not a fan of white rappers, except Eminem (who is an EXCEPTION to the Rule). Nothing personal its just that most of them are trying to act like they know something about growing up in the hood. And frankly the hood for a black person (and hispanic) is a whole other world than white folk. They cannot represent something they never really experienced. And that goes for ANYONE of ANY COLOR trying to be something they are NOT.

Only white rappers to have respect in the rap game are beasty boys and eminem...beasty boys changed the game for white rappers and eminem kept it going. But when eminem retires all is lost for white rappers no matter how many try to fill those shoes

actually tis a growing dislike among many and i suppose the icing melted on the cake when Brittany's kevin legally was allowed to hold a microphone

i am a songwriter first, and at 44 knowing the rap artists i do i doubt we will ever see half a dozen white rappers succeed as long as they continue to mimic a culture unlike their own, the lyrics are not there! I won't get into rhythm and just instinct/product of enviornment. Em'n'em freestyles, rarely cut twice and defines his art by the message he gives you and does it for him not us, and knows people (all people) defines his character by not defending it and at the end of the day provokes thought.

A songwriter I would be is kid rock, just when his lyrics can't get better he throws out a whole new direction but keeping himself in the mix all genres, same idea

Thanks for a great hub, at 44 it is still what i spend most of my days anyways at an illegal sound volume while i work

this released 3 days ago, hope you feel me too when i say he's finally found kid. cover video and a song that defines us

peace

Congratz for the hub dude! But in my opinion this rap is not the representative white rap from whole this music style.Don't think that rappers like those mentioned above can overtake the Hip-Hop scene.Unless you call Hip-Hop all that mainstream,MTV-promoted "rappers" that play hip-pop,rnb and similar junk that some named hip hop.I talk about real white rappers. There are much more better white rappers over the world with better lyrics,skills,flows,styles...

But nvrmnd all is ok!Keep on in that manner!

I'm gonna make a hub about some of representatives of white rap.Check my content soon!

This is great! I'm a metal head at heart, but I've been getting into a lot of rap/hip-hop lately. I especially liked that Chris Webby dude.
